Overview
What this program covers
Kummooyeh is a Korean martial art that combines swordsmanship, archery, and empty-hand techniques, with an emphasis on fluidity, grace, and precision. Its name translates as “the way of the sword and the bow.”
It was developed in the late 20th century as a way to preserve traditional Korean martial arts while promoting physical fitness, mental discipline, and cultural heritage.
Kummooyeh offers improved coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and endurance through swordsmanship, archery, and empty-hand training. It also emphasizes mindfulness, discipline, respect, and focus — promoting mental clarity, stress relief, and personal growth, along with an appreciation for Korean culture and history.
