Taekwondo Home Practice: What to Review Without Contact Drills
Keep home review tied to the instructor's assigned material and avoid turning a living room into an unsupervised sparring or weapon-training space.

Home review can help a student remember what was taught, but it should not replace instruction or introduce risky drills. The useful starting point is asking the instructor what to review between classes. A general online routine may use different material, technique, or expectations from MOD's curriculum.
Make the task specific
Write down the correction or sequence the instructor has assigned. The task might be remembering movement order, identifying a starting stance, or reviewing a term. If the student cannot explain the assignment, ask for clarification before practicing it repeatedly.
Use a manageable review period rather than making practice a test of endurance. Stop if movement causes pain or another concern and discuss it with the appropriate adult or professional.
Choose an appropriate space
Avoid furniture, breakable objects, slippery surfaces, and people moving through the practice area. Do not attempt kicks or sequences when the space is unsuitable. Reviewing notes or mentally walking through a sequence is an alternative when movement cannot be done appropriately.
Do not practice contact techniques on siblings or friends. Sparring, partner self-defense, acrobatics, board breaking, sword work, and archery belong in the appropriate supervised setting—not an improvised living-room drill.
Parents can support without becoming instructors
Ask what was assigned and help the child remember the next class. Avoid forcing stretches, correcting unfamiliar technical details, or comparing progress with another student. If something looks confusing, bring the question back to the instructor.
For a recurring difficulty, MOD's private lessons may be worth discussing. One-on-one coaching can address a specific question; it does not guarantee a rank or test result.
Use the location schedules to keep regular instruction on the calendar. New students should start with a free trial and receive appropriate guidance before building a home-review routine.
